Thursday, May 17, 2012

  • All Boys Lacrosse players that have signed up to play summer league need to see Coach Hipszer as soon as possible.

  • King of the Mill DVD's are ready. You may pick them up today after school from Mr. Yarn in Room 507 or Thursday, in the morning in the Media Center. If you would like to purchase a DVD, the cost is only $15.00. Make checks payable to OMHS Television. However, cash is also accepted.

  • Athletes - please return all sports locks to Ms. Bleivik today.

  • OMHS Junior and Senior Dance Company Auditions continue today, from 3:00 to 6:00pm in the Dance Studio.

  • How are you getting to the prom? There are still seats available on the motor coaches leaving from Brusnwick Bowling to the prom for just $10. Permission slips and money must be in by Thursday either to Mrs. Mackie outside the cafeteria during lunch shifts or to Mrs. Hunt in Room 200.

  • Anyone who still needs to pick up equipment from the Sundial dig can do so anytime during the day from room 705 or 703. Items not picked up by Friday, 5/25 will be donated.

  • There is a mandatory 2014 Officer meeting today at 2:15pm in Mrs. Hieatzman's room. All officers must attend for the entire half hour meeting. Please be prompt.

  • Not going to prom? Need service hours? Want to have fun? Volunteer for the Owen Brown Community Carnival this upcoming Saturday. If you are available for a period of time between noon and 6:00pm, please let Mrs. Savage know that you are available to help out.

  • Attention home room mentors. There is a mandatory home room mentor meeting on May 22 in the OMHS cafeteria to celebrate those mentors who are graduating. Please see Mr. Smart or Mrs. Hunt if you cannot make the meeting.

  • Is a teacher making a positive difference in your life? Nominate him or her for the PTSA Teacher of the Year by writing a short letter describing how that teacher or team of teachers have made a difference. Please include your name, write PTSA Awards on the envelope, and deliver it to the PTSA box in the office by June 8. See PTSA News for more details.

  • It's going to be a warm and sunny day. Currently, it's 61 degrees. The high will be around 73 degrees.

  • Today for lunch we are having spaghetti tacos, BBQ chicken bites, Philly cheese steak subs, and pizza.

  • The winners for the Arrive by 7:05 poster contest are: 1st place winning a $100 visa card is Maya Thaker, a Junior. Runners up, both in second place, are Sung Shin, a Senior, and David Kim. Congratulations and thanks to all the students who submitted posters.

  • Alex Tasker and Matt Hemler will be having their Senior Music Recital at 6:00pm tonight in the Oakland Mills auditorium. Come out and support them as they give their final performance here at OM!

  • Attention Class of 2013 class officers, there is a meeting today in Ms. Wood's room, 606 after school promptly at 2:15.

  • Seniors: If you were not able to purchase a Class Night ticket during lunch, see Mrs. Tourtlotte in Room 310. Tickets are still available, but space on the boat is limited, so please get your money and permission slip in as soon as possible.

  • Attention Tri M members: today is the election day meeting. All nominated candidates must have a speech no longer than two minutes. The election will take place right after school and seniors need not attend.
