Oakland Mills High School Transcript Process

Online Transcript and Recommendation Requests

We are getting many requests through email to complete secondary school reports and transcript requests online. Please be aware of the following guidelines for Howard County high schools:

  1. We cannot send out any transcripts online or through the mail without a signed Howard County Transcript Request Form and the fee of $4 per transcript.

  2. The Common Application is the only website that is secure for School Counselors to fill out the Secondary School Report form and attach a transcript. Students may enter a counselor’s email to complete the information, however they must turn in the signed transcript form and fee before it will be processed online. Students do not need to bring in an envelope if everything will be completed through the Common Application online process.

  3. In addition to the Common Application, counselor and teacher recommendations can be completed online for the University of Maryland College Park. However, we are unable to send a transcript online to UMCP, so students must bring in an envelope to mail their transcript if applying to UMCP.

  4. With the exception of the Common Application and UMCP, ALL secondary school reports should be printed, the student section completed, and the reports submitted with their envelopes, stamps and transcript request form.

Please do not send electronic requests for anything but the Common Application and UMCP.

If you have any further questions please call your school counselor at 410-313-6950.

Homework Request Policy

During the current flu season and the heightened concerns which have made it necessary for many students with symptoms to be out of school, Student Services will attempt to respond to the increased demands for the collection of assignments. However, please be aware that our standard policy is still in force for practical reasons.

Upon the request of parents, Student Services will complete a Homework Request Form and place copies in teachers’ mailboxes with the following caveats:

  1. the student will miss 3 days of school starting on the day the request is made
  2. the parent understands that teachers need 24 hours to get assignments to the Student Services Office
  3. the parent makes arrangements to have the assignments picked up from Student Services by 2:40pm on a school day

Schools, Military and Job Recruiters Visits

Colleges, military and job recruiters will be coming to the Counseling Center offering informational sessions throughout the fall.

This year, students in the 11th and 12th grades will be allowed to sign up for a maximum of 5 visits. It is a good idea to select your choices wisely. Choose a variety of schools to include campus size, location, reach and safe schools.

Students interested in attending these presentations must sign up for a pass in the Counseling Center prior to the first period of the day of the visit. Parents are invited as well.
