Tiffany Lang Named HoCo Female Runner of the Year

Congratulations to Tiffany Lang who was named Howard County Female Runner of the Year. Alyssa Hemler and Sam Andrews were selected to First Team All County. Tom Brumbaugh and Steven Cale - Second Team All County. Tiffany Lang was also First Team All Met for the Baltimore Sun and Second Team All Met for the Washington Post. Sam Andrews was also Second Team All Met for the Baltimore Sun.

Want to play a sport at OMHS? You'll need:

  • Physical dated after April 1, 2011 (forms can be obtained online or picked up at OM)
  • Parent permission form (can be obtained online or picked up at OM)
  • Consent for Sports Concussion Program Form
  • Proof of residency - lease, rental agreement, or utility bill (excluding cell phone bill)
  • Copy of Birth Certificate (all athletes who have played a sport at OM have one on file)
  • Academic Eligibility - 4th quarter grades will determine eligibility (2.0 GPA and no "E's" for the FOURTH Quarter)

All of this information must be turned in PRIOR to participating. Athletes will not be permitted to try out if paperwork is incomplete. All forms can be found here.

OM Athletics Results

May 11, 2012

  • Congratulations to Jazz Taylor, Nate Kollosch, Kyle Thompson, Jose Chavez, Jorge Arnedo, Armani Veguilla, Monet Lewis, Andrew Roberts, Errol Totten, Destiny Johnson; all part of the Allied Softball team who defeated Howard 12-6 yesterday on their way to undefeated season. Great job Team!

  • The following Tennis Team members advanced to the 2nd round of the County Tournament: Debra Frimpong; Shaun Roberts & David Last, doubles; Jackson Bailey & Kieran Buss, doubles; Lauren Olson & Sydney Watson, girls doubles; and Patrice Jones & Gabby Vincent.

May 8, 2012

  • Congratulations to the OM Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team who defeated Hammond yesterday 14-13. Contributions came up and down the line up aiding in the victory. JV also won finishing their season on a high note. Congratulations ladies! Varsity received a bye in the first round of the regional playoffs and will travel to Calvert for a quarterfinal match up on Friday. Game time is 3:00pm.

  • Congratulations to the OM Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team who defeated Reservoir Friday night in a thrilling triple overtime victory. Strong defense along with contributions up and down the line up aided in the victory. Nicole Twardowicz scored the winning goal.

May 2, 2012

  • Congratulations to doubles teams Jackson Bailey & Kieran Buss, Patrice Jones & Gabrielle Vincent, and Shaun Roberts & David Last who were all victorious in yesterday's tennis match against Reservoir.

  • Allied Softball remains undefeated with a victory over Wilde Lake 15-6. The Scorpions were led by great defense from Armani Veguilla, Errol Totten, Andrew Roberts, Jorge Arnedo and Monet Lewis. Nate Kollosch also hit a switch hit home rum for the Scorpions who are now 5-0. Good job Team!

  • OM Baseball defeated Howard yesterday by a score of 2-1. Ben Hale hit a walk off single to drive in the winning run in the bottom of the 7th inning. The team played stellar defense behind a strong pitching performance by Kyle Madden-Stricker and Nick Zayatz.

  • OM Varsity Softball defeated Wilde Lake 11-7. The defense was strong and the bats even stronger as the team rallied late in the game for the come-from-behind victory. Congratulations OM!

April 25, 2012

  • Boys JV Lacrosse tied Long Reach yesterday 4-4. Goals were scored by Matt Claxton, Austen Hughes and Aiden Cunningham had 2. Varsity also beat Long Reach 10-9 in overtime. Goals were scored by: George Gorokov, Segune Seweje and David Bruno all had 1 each; Shadrack Mawolo scored 3; Jimmy Riss scored 2; Wyatt Neely had 2. Goalie Vincent Dudek had 13 saves. The Scorpions take on Marriotts Ridge at Home on Thursday night. Come out and support your Scorpions.

  • In Tennis, Kieran Buss & Jackson Baily were both winners against Wilde Lake.

April 24, 2012

  • Boys JV LAX won their 3rd game of the season beating Hammond 6-4 Friday night. Austin Hughes scored a hat trick leading the team in goals. Dylan Juskus, Ian Gonzalez and Aiden Cunningham each added a goal. See them in action today at Long Reach at 4:00pm. Good luck Scorpions!!!!
