Trying to improve basic skills or prepare for an important test? Whatever your goal, LearningExpress Library's resources will help you succeed.
Learning Express provides interactive online practice tests in a variety of academic and career related areas. These include advanced placement tests, GED tests, college entrance exams (ACT and SAT), and job related qualification tests in areas such as nursing, the military, real estate, and a variety of public safety fields. This research tool also includes tutorial courses on job related skills, such as resume creation, and subject reviews in such areas as citizenship requirements, math skills, and writing skills. You will need to set up a personal user name and password in order to keep track of your progress on individual tests and courses.
Advanced Placement (AP) Exams
Important Day-of-Exams Info
If you are taking an AP exam, report directly to the Other Barn at 7:30am for a morning test and 11:30am for an afternoon test. Please bring pencils, pens and a calculator. Leave your cell phone at home.
2012 AP Exam Registration
Registration is open for all OM AP students. Information packets are now available in the Counseling Center and will be distributed to all AP classes with dates and details on the registration and exam process. The AP testing dates will run from Monday, May 7th through May 18th. Students not currently enrolled in AP level classes that are interested in AP testing can get infomation at the Counseling Center.
March 15 was the deadline for Exam registration. A $20 late fee must be added to exam orders submitted between 3/16 and 4/09. A $50 late fee must be added to exam orders submitted after 4/10 (7:30am). NOTE: Schools close early for SPRING BREAK on 3/30, and Students do not return until 4/10.

AP Exam Schedule

Please note that all exams will be given at the Other Barn in the OM Village Center (except Forgeign language exams which will be administered in the computer lab at OMHS). All students must arrive no later than a 1/2 hour prior to the scheduled test time.

High School Assessment (HSA)
May 2012 Administration
The May Administration of the HSA exams will take place as follows:
- Monday, May 21 - English
- Tuesday, May 22 - Biology
- Wednesday, May 23 - Algebra
- Thursday, May 24 - English MOD
Make-up exams will be administered May 30, 31, and/or June 1 as needed.

PSAT
The PSATs were given to all 10th and 11th grade students on October 12, 2011. The results of this test will qualify 11th grade students for the National Merit Scholarship.

SAT & ACT
SAT Prep Mini Camp at OMHS Offered by Sylan Learning Center
Need extra help preparing for your June 2nd SAT? Know what problems to answer and which to leave blank? Are you aware of all the strategies for success? Find out by attending the SAT mini camp at Oakland Mills offered by Sylvan Learning Center. This is a limited opportunity for 50 Oakland Mills juniors that will be awarded on a first come, first served basis. The program includes a Diagnostic SAT test given on May 18th at Oakland Mills, followed by individual test analysis and consults by the SAT experts at Sylvan. Finally, the students will receive 4 FREE hours of Sylvan SAT instruction here at Oakland Mills on May 30 and May 31. Please visit the website below to fill out an application.
