Do you  have big, bold ideas, or small smart ideas but need starter funds to get your ideas off the ground? Then Hawk Solutions is your solution!

Hawk Solutions is a new program at River Hill that enables students to create and execute their own ideas with the help of a mini grant.  To be awarded one of these grants students should review the simple criteria below, find an adult advisor and then complete the electronic form.  Requests range from $50.00-$2,000.00.

Once the  Hawk Solutions committee receives the form we will contact you, to set up your opportunity  to “pitch” your dream.   The pitch involves  presenting your vision, passion and plan in a short presentation to the committee and answering questions for a few minutes following the pitch. The committee consists of students(2-3), teachers(2) and parents(2), who will evaluate the “pitch’s” eligibility for grant funds.

Grants will be awarded based upon the product’s contribution to the school/community, feasibility, and in some cases sustainability.

About the Grants: RHHS has been given the opportunity to give students grants to
complete community oriented projects. The money will go towards funding these projectsand any resources, supplies, extra help, etc. that the student may need. To apply for
a grant, you must see Ms. Sasser and present your proposal to a board that includes
students and teachers who will evaluate your project. A Google Document will be sent to
your email and you will fill out all of the necessary information as the first step to receive
your grant. If your proposal is accepted, you must also have an adult advisor, either
within the school or outside of school, who will help you complete your project.

What You Can Make: Applicants can make any product that will benefit the community
(not necessarily the school) in some way. The product must be done with the help of an
adult advisor who is also part of the community. As evidence of completion, students
must submit pictures, videos, or any sort of memorabilia from the product to show the
committee. Students should have a solid idea of what they want to accomplish before
approaching the committee. If students want to change their initial idea in the middle of
creation, they must tell the committee of their new plan.

Eligibility: Applicants can be in any grade level. It is NOT necessary to be enrolled in
the GT Independent Research or Intern/Mentor Program. Applicants must have their
ideas fully planned out before approaching the board with their proposal.
