Welcome
to the Rockburn Elementary Endangered Species Home Page. We are
Chelsea and Kate. We were interested in Endangered Animals so
we completed a Lightbulb Form and submitted it to Mr. Polack,
our GT Resource Teacher. We began to investigate different endangered
animals.
We
discovered a computer program created by several students a few
years ago at Rockburn. The program is on a CD-Rom in our computer
lab and is also available to anyone with a Macintosh to download.
Go to Macintosh
Student-Created Freeware
and look for Endangered Species. We wanted more people to have
access to this information, so we thought we would create a web
site using the information from the computer program. Now that
we have the initial website completed, we will spend the remainder
of the school year adding our own animals. [First update: 1/5/01 - added 3 animals] We hope more people will have a chance
to see this information and that you enjoy our site.
The
original program was developed by Amanda during the 1994 - 1995
school while doing a Type III Investigation and a game side was
added by Jordan, Kristyn, and Courtney during the 1997 - 1998
school year also while completing a Type III Investigation. We
want to thank these students for the wonderful work they did
and for allowing us to convert parts of their program into a
web site.
We hope you enjoy
our site and learn much about Endangered Animals!
